The player's mailbox allows them to receive letters with various attached items in their mail. Once the attachment is taken out, the letter can be shredded into a valuable Organic Paper Fragment.
The mailbox is located to the right of the player's house. The new letters are brought by postal pigeons: when a new letter arrives, a short animation with a pigeon dropping it into the mailbox will play. The mailbox can then be interacted with to take the letter out. Letters can be kept in the mailbox overnight and indefinitely.
When the mailbox has at least one letter in it, the small yellow flag on it will be pointing upwards and waving; the flag will be folded next to the lid when the mailbox is empty.
Letters and their uses
Letters are an important material that can be recycled or sold for 60 
; recycling letters in a Paper Shredder allows the player to process them into Organic Paper Fragments that can be turned into Blank Organic Cards using Super Glue.
Once the player takes a letter out of the mailbox, they can read it by interacting with it from their inventory or by taking it in their hand and using it as a tool. If a letter has an item attached, that item can be taken out immediately or left for later. A letter that has an item attached it cannot be recycled until the item is taken out.
For letters that have random attachments (for example, the letters containing pigeon rewards), the exact item attached is determined the moment the letter is taken out of the mailbox. That allows the player to keep the letter in their mailbox overnight, save the game by ending the day, and then reroll the letter contents by taking it out of the mailbox in the morning and reloading the save unless they get the specific item they want.
Mail sources
Letters can be obtained from a variety of sources:
- Main quest letters are sent by Dawn as the player progresses with the main story; other characters will occasionally send the player mail for their side quests.
- All annual festival reminders are sent through the mail a day before the event.
- All event rewards are sent through the mail either on the day of the event or the next morning.
- Aamy will send the player a letter every time they complete a project on her workbench.
- Tools upgraded by Bram are sent in the mail when Bram is done working on them.
- All rewards for bringing flightless pigeons to Pip are sent in the mail five days after handing the pigeon in.
- All pigeon rewards can be rerolled by leaving the letters in the mailbox overnight to save the game and then reloading the save until the player gets the item they want.
- Getting the Pigeon Blessing from the Pixie Guardian will significantly increase the number of pigeons the player can catch and thus the number of reward letters they can receive.
- Hersha will send the player a poster with every Bakery collection they complete.
