'''Virtual Falls Critter Catching Event''' is an annual [[Festival|event]] that is held on [[Autumn]] 16 on the northern [[beach]]. The event is organized by [[Dog]] and consists of a friendly competition with the simulation helmets with prizes redeemable for points.
==Event day and participants==
The day before the event, on Autumn 15, the player will receive a letter from Dog inviting them to attend. The next day, Dog will be waiting next to the hammock on the northern beach from early morning to 2pm. The event can be started by talking to him. When the player tells Dog they are ready to start the event, the beach transforms into a scene set up with several chairs with VR simulation helmets, and the introduction cutscene plays. During the cutscene, Dog will explain the rules of the event, and the [[critter]] catching minigame will start immediately afterwards.

During the minigame, the player is transported into a simulated area full of various critters and given a [[Bug Net]]. The player has to catch the critters by swinging their bug net and pick the critters up to get points: three points for catching giant critters, two for medium sized ones, and one for small. The player has 60 seconds to catch as many critters as they can.

Once the timer runs out, the player is transported back to the beach where they can talk to other participants or redeem their points for prizes. [[Aamy]], [[Daisy]], [[Edgar]], [[Fin]], and [[Pepper]] are sitting in their chairs and can be talked to. [[Cedric]], [[Dawn]], [[Freya]], and [[Pip]] are offering prizes for the player to redeem.

The event can be ended by speaking to Dog. Any unspent event points will be lost when the player ends the event.

==Prizes==
The points the player has earned in the critter catching simulation can be exchanged for several useful [[machine]]s, including a placeable [[Paper Shredder]] that is not available elsewhere. Any items the player redeems for points will be sent to their [[mailbox]] the following morning.
