Lotus Pad
Lotus Pad is a part of a lotus plant that can be foraged from the lotus plants in the wild or grown in any water body.
Growing lotuses

A Lotus Pad will always grow from a Lotus Pod thrown in the water four days after it is planted (one day if the player wears Lotus Luminescence when throwing the pod in). The pad can be harvested with any fishing rod; harvesting the pad will remove the plant entirely. A Lotus Pad cannot be thrown back into the water.
If left unharvested, a Lotus Pad will sprout a Lotus Bud that will eventually bloom into a flower and form a Lotus Pod.
Giant Lotus Pad, a variety of Lotus Pad, will form when nine lotuses of the same color are planted on a 3x3 square area. Giant Lotus Pad will go through the same stages as a regular Lotus Pad if left unharvested. Removing a Giant Lotus Pad with a fishing rod will remove the plant entirely, requiring the player to go through the process of planting nine lotuses of the same color again.
Uses
Lotus Pad and Giant Lotus Pads can be sold or donated to the Museum as part of its Water Plants and Giant Water Plants collections.
Both Lotus Pad and Giant Lotus Pad can appear as an animal's favorite food.
