The Museum is a large building found to the west of the Farm. The Museum contains the displays for most of its collections, a Critter Terrarium for public use, and a Soot Puff tank that gives prizes.

Donating items

Most of the items the player can gather, fish out, mine, or produce can be donated to the Museum. Only a single copy of one particular item can be donated. If an item has not yet been donated, its icon has a blue star; once a copy of the item is donated to the Museum, the blue star disappears. The items donated by the player will be displayed on their stands in exhibition halls, for items that has not been donated yet, only the outline is shown on display. Donated items can be examined by interacting with them.

The player can donate items by using deposit machine located in the main hall of the Museum or in exhibition halls; it is also possible to place an item directly on its exhibition display. Fish and shells can also be donated using the deposit slot of the Town Aquarium.

Every item is part of a specific Museum Collection. Once all items in a given collection are donated, the player will receive one Museum Credit to exchange for various rewards like edible cards, plushies, or decorations.

Credit Exchange

Museum Credits can be exchanged at the terminals located on Tobias' desk in the center of the main hall. The yellow terminal has red and blue edible cards (except Pixie Friendship and Pixie Synergy) to choose from for one Credit each. The blue terminal has a variety of items for trade, most of them purely decorative.

Soot Puff Prizes

A tank with a single Soot Puff is found to the left of the entrance, where the player can deposit in Soot Puffs caught in the wild or grown in a Soot Grower. Every single Soot Puff has a size that gets added to the size of the Soot Puff in the tank. Once the Museum Soot Puff reaches a certain size, it drops a prize. The full list of prizes can be viewed by interacting with the console next to the tank. Some prizes are unique and cannot be obtained elsewhere.

The player can change the Museum's Soot Puff color and name by interacting with it.

Critter Terrarium

A Critter Terrarium in the main hall is free for the player to use for growing or breeding crickets. It works the same as any other Critter Terrarium but cannot be picked up or moved. A chart next to the terrarium provides a simple explanation of the critter breeding mechanic.

Collections

The main purpose in the Museum is accepting item donations and displaying them in the exhibition halls. These halls can be accessed through three door in the main hall of the Museum: the door on the left leads into the hall dedicated to displaying water plants, crops, fruit, mushrooms, animal products, tree sap, and most of the processed goods; the middle door leads to the frog, flutterfly, and dragonfly exhibits; and the right door leads to the hall with ores and minerals. Fish and shells are displayed in the Town Aquarium even if they were donated using any of the deposit machines inside the Museum.

The player can see the items they have already donated inside the exhibition halls. Additionally, the Museum offers several collection books for sale for 200 each. The books can be viewed from the inventory or placed on any shelf or table and interacted with to show the list of all collections of its item type, with green checkmarks indicating already donated items.
