A Strand of Hair
A Strand of Hair is a singular side quest in Everafter Falls. The quest is obtained on the 28th day of Summer on Year 1.
To begin the quest the player must speak to Hersha. She will tell the player she needs some cheering up. She tells the player that people should do whatever it takes in order to be with the person they love, “no matter what. Right?”. She then asks for a tiny favor from her “BFF” (best friend forever). She asks for them to procure a single strand of hair belonging to an elephant. She goes on to say that while obtaining the hair, not to mention that she is involved.
The player must navigate to the only elephant in the Falls, Edgar, and speak with him.
When the player speaks with him he will immediately suspect Hersha is behind the odd request. He very adamantly rejects the request saying that Hersha is “all into that voodoo stuff…” He continues to tell the player he suspects she is trying to hex him into falling in love with her, and that the player needs to ask someone else instead.
From here the player is mostly left without a lead and must ask other residents of Everafter Falls for their hair. Once the player speaks to Cid he will ask why the player needs some of his hair. Somewhat reluctantly he simply gives the player a strand of hair Saying that he doesn't understand, but they are his number one customer.
With the hair in hand the player must return to Hersha. She will ask the player to inspect the hair to make sure it is legit. After deciding that the strand of hair is in fact from Edgar's perfect head she will reward her BFF with a Community Gate Key for their hard work.
The quest in completed once dialogue with Hersha is concluded.
Follow up
Three days after the events of this quest Hersha will send the player a letter saying the hair is not doing anything. That letter contains Edgar Plushie.
Trivia
While there is no direction given after Edgar refuses to give a piece of hair to the player. It can be deduced that the only other animal in the Falls with dark gray hair is Cid and thus is enough to convince Hersha that the hair is from the right person.
