Pixie

Pixies are tiny beings made of mostly light that can help the player with a variety of tasks on their farm and around it. Pixies can be attracted by placing offerings in Pixie Shrines, put into a Pixie Bottle and then placed on different objects to harvest resources or improve machine yields or released with the Pixie Guardian in a Pixie Cave. Pixies have different uses depending on their color.
Fin's early game quest Pixie in a Bottle and a poster in Dawn's Potion Shop provide a short in-game explanation on pixies and their types. The player will also receive a Small Pixie Bottle with one green and one blue pixies from Fin for completing his quest.
Bottles
Pixie Bottles are tools that are used for collecting, storing, and moving pixies. Two sizes of pixie bottles are available in the game: a Small Bottle that can store two pixies and a Large Bottle that can store six. Both bottles are craftable via the Crafting menu. The player can craft as many bottles as they would like, provided they have enough materials.
| Image | Name | Recipe | Capacity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small Pixie Bottle | 2 pixies | ||
| Refined Pixie Bottle | 6 pixies |
When a Pixie Bottle is held in hand, it can be used to pick up the pixies perched on Pixie Shrines, natural objects, or machines. The pixies currently held in a bottle are represented by small colored circles above its icon in the inventory. Once a bottle is full, it will not accept more pixies, and the player will get an error message when trying to place more pixies into that bottle.
The pixie held in a bottle can be placed on eligible objects by holding the bottle in hand and interacting with an object. All pixies currently held in a bottle can be released by holding that bottle in hand and interacting with the Pixie Guardian.
Colors and uses
Four types of pixies exist in the game: Blue, Green, Red, and Rainbow. Different colored pixies can be bound to different types of objects, except rainbow pixies that can be bound to any object and will complete any task with increased effectiveness. Green and Blue pixies can be bound to harvestable objects to collect their resources every day without destroying the objects they are bound to, and Red pixies can be bound to machines to increase their yields or to Silk Farms or Bee Hives to increase their production speed.
Every pixie placed on a natural object or a machine counts towards the player's boundable pixie limit. Once that limit is reached, no new pixies can be placed; the player can only free a spot by putting any of their bound pixies into a tapper or a bottle and releasing them. The player starts the game with the limit of nine; that limit can be increased by eating Pixie Friendship cards and wearing jewelry that has this bonus.

Green and blue pixies will deposit the resources they harvest into the Pixie Deposit Chest every night. The chest is located next to the Town Shrine between Cid's Store and Freya's. If the chest gets full, some harvested items may be discarded. The amount of resources collected can be increased by eating Pixie Synergy cards and wearing equipment that has this bonus.
If the player destroys or picks up an object that has a pixie bound to it, that pixie will be lost. To avoid losing the pixie, the player has to collect it into a bottle first.
Blue Pixies

Blue Pixies can be placed on any rocks, ore deposits, quartz and shard nodes, and strange stones to harvest their contents every day without breaking the rocks or nodes.
- Ore rocks and pure ore deposits yield their corresponding ore, with pure ore deposits producing slightly more ore than ore rocks.
- Coal rocks yield Coal.
- Quartz rocks yield Quartz.
- A shard node yields a random shard every day (Arcane, Ion, or Phantom); all shards harvested in the span of the same day by one pixie are of the same type.
- A round strange stone yields a random geode every day (Unordinary, Peculiar, Rare, or Extraordinary).
Green Pixies

Green Pixies can be placed on fully grown trees, bushes, or mushroom patches to harvest their contents every day without destroying the plants. Most objects can have only one pixie concurrently bounded to it.
- Fully grown trees yield Wood, with the exception of Orb Trees that yield Dark Wood and Wurple and Zorpian Trees that yield White Wood.
- The Great Dream Tree near Dawn's house yields Dark Wood; up to three pixies can be placed on that tree.
- The Great Wisdom Tree to the south of the town yields White Wood; up to three pixies can be placed on that tree as well.
- Fully grown patches of grass yield Grass Fibre.
- Everberry and Yummyberry bushes yield Everberries and Yummyberries respectively, even out of season.
- Mushroom patches yield mushrooms of their type. Pixies can only be bounded to fully grown mushroom patches; a mushroom patch that has a pixie bound to it will never disappear.
Red Pixies

Red Pixies can be placed on most machines the player owns. Pixies can only be placed or removed when a machine is idle. A machine that has a pixie bound to it will produce twice its usual output. Pixies have no effect on production time.
Pixies do not produce additional items when bounded to Silk Farms and Bee Hives, instead they reduce the production time by 50%.
Rainbow Pixies
Rainbow Pixie is the rarest type of pixie. A rainbow pixie can do all tasks other pixie types can do. Additionally, it will harvest twice as much of the same resource from any natural object it is placed on or thrice the output for any machine it is placed on. Rainbow pixies placed on Silk Farms and Bee Hive reduce their production time by 80%.
For the great benefits they provide, rainbow pixies are much more difficult to attract, with the regular offerings having a very small chance (less than 1%) of attracting one. To get a higher chance of receiving a rainbow pixie, the player must use a rare Pixiecap mushroom or Splendid Everberry Juice and Super Everberry Juices that are crafted from rare and valuable ingredients.
Alternatively, a rainbow pixie can be obtained by placing three pixies of different colors into a Pixie Terrarium; these three pixies have a 3% chance (with a very small additional chance based on the player's Luck) to combine into one rainbow pixie every morning.
Tapping Kits

Any pixie that is perched on a natural objects, a machine, or a shrine can be removed from that object into any empty Tapping Kit or Delicate Tapping Kit instead of a Pixie Bottle to make it into a Pixie Tapping Kit. That Pixie Kit can then be used to tap fully grown trees normally.
A blue, red, or green pixie put into a Tapping Kit reduces the time required to collect sap by half (to 50% of the original time); a rainbow pixie in a Tapping Kit increases its efficiency by five times (to 20% of the original time); however, once a pixie is placed into a tapper, it becomes part of the kit and can never be taken out of it to be used elsewhere or released. Pixies in tappers do not count towards the player's boundable pixie limit.
Tobias' quest A Promise Kept serves as an in-game tutorial on Pixie Tapping Kits.
Attracting Pixies

Pixies do not spawn in the wild naturally and need to be attracted at Pixie Shrines instead. The earliest available shrine is the Town Shrine located between Cid's Store and Freya's. The shrine is in disrepair at the start of the game, and the player needs to repair it by contributing forty Wood, three Quartz, and ten Stone to it. Placeable Pixie Shrines can be crafted using nine Copper Bars, three Silk Ropes, three White Wood, and two Honeycombs; however, they have 10% less success rate of attracting pixies than the Town Shrine for most offerings (except special potions and Pixiecap).
To attract a pixie, the player needs to place an offering into a shrine first. The acceptable offerings are:
- All fruit and vegetable crops from plants and fruit trees
- All mushrooms, both the ones found on the ground and on tree stumps
- All raw animal produce, including eggs (regular and golden), milk, wool, truffles dug out by Spudges and candy produced by Ponyas
- Processed Honey and any type of Pink Honey
- Butter and Avocado Butter (that is also considered animal produce for Pixie Shrine purposes)
- Everberry Juice and its variations
The chance to get a pixie with the chosen offering is rolled and saved overnight; if it succeeds, a pixie of a randomly chosen color (and in some rare instances a rainbow pixie) will be found perched on that shrine next morning, ready to be collected into a Pixie Bottle. The chance of success heavily depends on the offering the player uses:
Everberry Juice is guaranteed to attract a regular non-rainbow pixie and has a very small chance (~1%) of attracting a rainbow pixie instead.
Splendid Everberry Juice is guaranteed to attract a regular pixie and has a 20% chance to attract a rainbow pixie instead. The chance increases to 30% if the player's Luck procs.
Super Everberry Juice always attracts rainbow pixies.
Pixiecap is the only non-potion offering that has a very high chance of attracting a pixie: 5% for a rainbow and 74% for a random non-rainbow one. The chances increase even further if the player's Luck procs: 10% for a rainbow and 84% for a regular pixie.- For all other offerings, the sell price is used to determine the chance of attracting a pixie. The item's sell price is divided by two. If the resulting value is less than 9 or more than 40, it is increased to 9 and reduced to 40 respectively; if the value is between 9 and 40, it is used as is instead. Then a bonus chance is added to that value if it applies, and the resulting number is used as a percentage to roll for a random pixie.
- Mushrooms (both regular and tree mushrooms, with the exception of truffles that are considered animal produce) have a +5% bonus chance of attracting a pixie compared to crops, fruit, and animal produce.
- Using these offerings at the Town Shrine grants +10% success chance compared to using placeable Pixie Shrines.
- The player gets an additional +5% bonus chance if their Luck procs.
- Every regular offering has a very small chance (<1%) of attracting a rainbow pixie.
The offering placed into a shrine always disappears overnight. If the shrine is empty the next day, a new offering can be placed there immediately; if the previous day's offering has successfully attracted a pixie, that pixie needs to placed into a Pixie Bottle to free up the space for another offering. The pixie will stay on the shrine forever until it is put into a bottle or a tapper, or until the player picks up the shrine to make it disappear.
Recall shrines
Pixies can also be attracted into the recall shrines located in Pixie Cave. Once the player repairs one of the shrines, it will attract a pixie of its color every five days.
Recall shrines can also be used to recall all currently bonded pixies of a specific color. The pixies can then be picked up into tapping kits or bottles to be reassigned or released.
Pixie Guardian
The Pixie Guardian in an entity that lives in the cave on the northern beach that is only accessible after clearing the large stump blocking the entrance with the Copper Axe. The Pixie Guardian can release any pixies held in a bottle if the player talks to them with that bottle inside.
The Guardian offers valuable cards and permanent bonuses for freeing pixies. The reward is obtained by talking to the Guardian after releasing the required number of pixies. The full list of rewards and the total number of pixies the player has released can be viewed by interacting with the Prize Board to the left of the Guardian.
